The basic principles of coherent−detection optical CT. It is expected that new diagnostic imaging modalities will be introduced in the future. However，few of them will be able to match the significance of such epoch-making modalities as X−ray CT，MRI, and so on. I would now like to talk briefly about the future directions of diagnostic imaging technology in Japan.
