Japan Medical Imaging and Radiological Systems Industries Association
(JIRA) was founded to contribute to the growth of the radiological
systems industries and people's health and welfare, by standardization, quality
and safety assurance, and technological improvements of medical radiological systems,
related equipment and accessories. The membership includes about 190 companies involved in the manufacture, import and sales of medical
radiological systems and related products. JIRA has several divisions and committees that are
positively engaged in related activities, including international cooperation. |

In 1963, this association began as the Japan Medical
Electrical Industries Association. |
|
In 1967, the name was changed to the Japan Industries Association
of Radiation Apparatus. |
|
In 1980, this association was officially established as a corporation,
the Japan Industries Association of Radiation Apparatus. |
|
In 1998, the name was changed to the Japan Industries Association
of Radiological Systems. |
|
In 2012, reorganized to general incorporated association. the English name changed to the Japan Medical Imaging and Radiological Systems Industries Association |
