Economy Division

Outline

 This division investigates problems and issues related to medical service fees and medical insurance systems and makes proposals to the government.  Based on the member company’s requests, the division also cooperates with related academic societies and associations and submits proposals for the proper evaluation system of diagnosis and treatment.

Main activities

• Collection of opinions and submission of proposals for the revision of medical service fees
• Research and establishment of evaluation systems for medical equipment
• Development of a midterm outlook based on the vision of the medical equipment industry and submission of requests to the government
• Exchange of opinions with related academic societies and association

Organization

Main activities

Cost-Effectiveness Analysis Committee
Focusing mainly on incremental cost-effectiveness analysis, this committee studies the definition and evaluation of innovations of medical equipment and establishes the logic of both treatment and diagnosis.

Medical Service Fee Committee
This committee investigates problems and issues related to medical service fees and medical insurance systems and makes proposals to the government. 

Radiotherapy Committee
This committee investigates problems and issues related to medical service fees of radiotherapy.

Tax Deduction Study Committee
This committee reorganizes the equipment models eligible for special depreciation and submits the new list of eligible equipment. It also studies tax-deductible purchase of expensive equipment to prepare for the consumption tax rise to 10%.
